Technical details
Furnace housing
Housing as well as door consist of a lightweight sheet steel construction. As protection against corrosion they are coated with structural lacquer. The chosen colors blue/white give a nice appearance to the whole furnace.
Insulation
Around the heating muffle made of silicon-carbide consecutively fiber mats, fiber insulation boards and mineral wool boards are layered. Due to the fiber insulation materials, high thermal power at low energy consumption is achieved. This also results in a low furnace weight. In order to guarantee an easy charging, insert boards made of ceramic are included in the scope of delivery.
Heating
The surface of the SiC muffle is wired with Kanthal-A1 respectively APM heating spirals, providing a constant temperature distribution inside the chamber. In connection with the insulation extremely short heating up and cooling down cycles at low heating power will be obtained.
Control unit
The control system is installed at the side of the furnace part. The furnace is delivered with the following described:
- Temperature program controller G400
- 2- or 3-setpoint controller with PID behavior
- Logic output
- One heating ramp – freely programmable velocity/ramp function
- Display of actual value
- Self optimization prevents overshooting
- Separation of control level and configuration level
- Alarm signal in case of thermocouple fracture
- Timer with turn-on & turn-off delay (dwell time)
